  2. The head looks super squished at this angle, the prototype non colored pics looked better imo

  3. true that anonymous...the prototype looks better..
it still reminds me of the older model
the shoulder armor is really big...head is small...
    it's bulky....
i hope that they would reconsider some things before they actually release the kit

  4. The kit itself is fine, I just don't like the head. It looks a bit fat/wide.

  6. It's the the full-colored jaw that's making the head look "squished". I'm sure if we got a closer look at the head itself it'd probably look fine. I can't wait! NOW! Show us the BEAM SWORD!!!

  7. Hmm... Well, the first picture better justifies the looks of the head; like with most things, from a perspective, people's heads might not look as flattering and good looking, and that can apply to any ol' Gundam head. Turn A's head, for example, doesn't look as majestic, ancient, and powerful-looking from plainly in the rear, but some side and front angles can justify the look in a heartbeat, especially in the anime.

So, while the second picture makes the Epyon's head look more unflattering than the model uncolored or the lineart, Katoki's Epyon design in model form still looks good. So I disagree with Russotomask's point of view, whether it's coming from prejudicial bias of some sort or a general difference in taste (I know there are those who prefer Okawara's designs outright, or someone else's, or just seem to not agree with Katoki's take on things, and so on).

  8. Overall proportion seem not good to me. Let's wait and see, I hope the final product is better.
Don't forget that its april mop now, might be one of bandai jokes... :D

  9. I agree with Shiro32. Although if BEE-CRAFT (Junichi Akutsu, for those who don't know) were to have done the draft for the MG design, would it have been so different from what we're getting?
Katoki took a lot of things that were, well, "there" in the original design and actually made them useful. Such as the wings, which on the Okawara design, were only there for aesthetics, were given thrust and ventilation units, thus aiding the purpose of the MA mode. The shoulder armor on the original were also just "there", with the vents inside being the only component, and the were very intrusively designed. Katoki's shrank them, to give the arms more mobility. Same for the forearm claws. He could have went around it differently, but it still isn't different enough to merit the complaints I've been seeing.
The entire model retains Epyon's silhouette and color scheme, with the only changes really just being mechanical detail and otherwise making it more functional as both a model kit and an actual MS! Compared to the rest of the EW cast, his Epyon is considerably unaltered. It's not like he slapped a bunch of guns on it and completely perverted the original concept of the melee-exclusive Gundam.

I just wish all this unjust hatred would stop so we can actually enjoy what an awesome release this will undoubtedly be!
    Imean, IT'S EPYON! SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE!

  10. Yeah! I agree with nari about its proportions. It looks like Epyon went to a gym, hired a personal (though he isn't a person) trainer and beefed up.

Though I'm nitpicking here already when it's never out yet, it doesn't mean I dislike it. In fact, I actually still like it better than its HG counterpart. I just wish it had better proportions for the upper half.

I will surely buy this because this is what I collect
